JoeBloggs Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Hi all, My friend has a problem with his brand new Windows 10 64Bit laptop. When ever he tries to open VMs (using Work Station or VirutalBox), it BSOD on him. (he is just using Ubuntu 64Bit) He has VT enabled in the BIOS. All drivers and Windows updates are up to date. Log Name: System Source: Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power Date: 13/10/2015 13:32:47 Event ID: 41 Task Category: (63) Level: Critical Keywords: (35184372088832),(2) User: SYSTEM Computer: XXX-primary Description: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Any ideas? Thanks
disk Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) What is the make/model? Are they running the latest version of VirtualBox and/or VMWare Workstation? Try updating the BIOS to the latest version? Edited October 14, 2015 by disk
Sagima Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 My initial thought would be faulty ram if it happens at that point. Try opening a VM with just 512meg ram and see if it keeps going?
