Disabling built in camera // Rainbow Easi-scope

I wonder if anyone can help. A school i work with have brought a bunch of Rainbow Easi Scopes (a camera microscope). I've installed software etc as normal.

 

The PC's use the program fine, however the laptops, with built in cameras, are defaulting to the built in cameras. There is no option to change default within the software, and as the pupils have restricted profiles they wouldn't be able to change anything through normal Windows.

 

Is there anything anyone can think of to get around this issue? Would value your thoughts!

Logon as administrator, disable the main webcam from the Device Manager?

Sorry, I should have said they have 40+ laptops - I guess i could do it manually - just wondered if there was a GPO way

Interestingly, I did the above idea - however, it's disabling all web cam devices, including external ones. Any other ideas would be great!

can you create a GPO that is WMI targetted to those machines, then find the driver files that are specific to the camera instance you want to disable and use the GPO computer config -> windows settings -> security settings -> filesystem and then add a everyone deny to the driver file and see what happens?
