Jehanzeb Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Morning everyone, We are having real issues with Apple update service in particular iTunes as Phobos.apple.com and other Apple update services are hogging our bandwidth, 19.5Mbps non stop is being used by the domain. I can block the services on our Smoothwall but I don't want to block it, just allocate very less bandwidth. Has anyone come across the same or similar issue and how did you fix it? Any help all be highly appreciated. Kindest regards J.
Arthur Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I don't want to block it Setup a caching server on a spare Mac?
Jehanzeb Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Morning Arthur, Thank you for your quick response. I have an old Mac server, 10.6, but I couldn't see 'caching service'. Do I have to separately download it from App Store? Kindest regards J.
Jehanzeb Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Sorry that's what I meant, it has all services afp, DNS, DHCP, sub, NAS, od, web, VPN, software update etc in the list but not caching service Regards J
