Hi all,

Our firewall here cannot log user traffic and I have been told if I want that facility I'll need to buy a separate device.

My question is, can I use something like a PFSense VM to NAT to our existing router and log all of student traffic?

Thanks

Yes, in real time. However it has no logging feature. We had a case yesterday where I needed a log of a users internet traffic, and our Firewall / Content Filter cannot do this.

Wow. I'd suggest getting a new content filter, that's a fairly basic feature. How do you troubleshoot internet issues?

To answer your actual question I don't think PFsense will do what you require.

Thanks for your help. However it is not quite as simple as just getting a new content filter. I'd also be hard pressed to justify to management why we should spend £xxxx for "basic feature".

I'm sure this is possible with PFSense I just wanted to ask people if they know it is possible before I start experimenting.
