tombry Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 So I'm trying to get my QAN codes up-to-date, but when I try pulling them in I get an error on the Awarding Bodies one - duplicate primary keys. The QAN website says this was an issue on Thursday, but the new files should be fine. I've just downloaded the new files, and they are not fine. Anyone (someone must) have a fix? I need to get my new courses on to tie sixth form students to to finish my census. tom
Dan_G Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I've run into this as well today with our SIMS manager, guessing I'm in the same position as you. The duplicate index we got was 104 - I went as far as opening up the xml in notepad and removing the record with 104 as the ID (turns out it was the last one in the file). That did get rid of it, but then SIMS just gave me another error, something along the lines of a field not being part of a table. We've tried to email their helpdesk but had no confirmation or reply, also tried phoning the only number we could find but the number doesn't appear to work. Last option was to log a call with our LEA helpdesk, hoping they've found a fix. Not heard anything back yet.
bobsmith Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 You can just edit the xml, just remember not to bugger up the structure of the xml by taking the wrong tags out!
tombry Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 I tried editing the XML by removing the offending code, but then got the same error as @03038372 DfE finally replied to me today, stating they have passed it on...so maybe I'll have an answer by Friday.
Seb1780 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 There's a (not very useful) KB article on Capita's website:- KB-422018 - Error Importing QAN Catalogue 7.164 Importing QAN Catalogue files provided by the DfE Tools | Examinations | Import Qualification Data After entering the 4 files and pressing Import, it takes 2-5 minutes then an error appears: Violation of UNIQUE KEY constraint 'uq_census_qan_awarding_body_awarding_body_code'. Cannot insert duplicate Key in object 'sims.census_qan_awarding_body'. The duplicate key value is (104) Solution We have had confirmation that the DfE have looked at the files and confirmed that there is an issue which they are resolving. They will be releasing new Catalogue files shortly to resolve the issue. Currently we do not have a time frame for this to be released. Additional Comments For more information, please discuss with the DfE. 1
Dan_G Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) We've had an update from our LEA that matches the above - the 'corrected' files on the DfE site are still wrong, and they've admitted it. DfE are looking into it and will replace them as soon as they can. Edited October 7, 2015 by 03038372 1
