fiza Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Do any schools out there use Megaphones during Fire Drills? Our Head purchased a 10W Adastra L10 megaphone but staff have said it is not loud enough when he is addressing 1200 students all lined up outside. Any recommendations on make/model/wattage?
DCUK6 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 We have one is this school but it doesnt get used. However, when i was at school 8-9 years ago (maybe a bit more but dont want to realise how old i am) they had a huge hand held one but the problem was if it wasn't facing you then you couldn't hear it. They are quite directional so unless you can get one with multiple trumpets your going to struggle. Or try this. 2
CAM Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Yes, ours uses one. However, keeping the kids quiet so they can be heard is the better solution. Perhaps re-arrange the lines so the kids are in a more compact shape (we have two rows of lines facing each other with the Head in the middle).
Pyroman Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 They usually just get me to shout everything. No need for a megaphone here!
localzuk Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 None used here - if anyone talks they are removed from their line and put in the center of the tennis courts, then given detention. Everyone walks about in silence. No need for a megaphone!
