We are looking at purchasing a few projectors. I know now that the price has come down a fair bit and also that some manufacturers also give a 3yr warranty on the bulbs as well.

One thin i need to bear in mind ( possibly) is that all our staff have new wide screen laptops now so the resolution is an issue ( or is it)

A couple of companies now do replacement bulb services, I spoke to Just Lamps at BETT who offer some kind of slightly-cheaper, almost-like-the-original-manufacturers replacement ("Diamond Lamps"). You might want to check their list of available bulbs, see which projector has the cheapest bulb replacement costs.

("Diamond Lamps").

Are these the bulbs that are like print cart re=fills?

As in the take parts of your old bulb and re-build it with some new parts so you end up getting a sort of reconditioned bulb?

From what I remember talking to the sales person on the stand: they buy bulbs in bulk from the same source as the projector manufacturers, then build a chassis around them that fits into a particular model projector. These are all-new materials, nothing is recycled or reused.

Yup I remember talking to her, very nice lady, they buy the bulbs from the big names like the manufactureres do, but they make there own carrage, holder, frame, wiring etc for them, and save money that way.
