Novalee Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Oh I adore multiplayer. Although it can take ages to get a game going sometimes - people disconnecting etc. quite frustrating - but it's really fun.
Grey-gear Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Have spats were Civ 5 is all I play but never multiplayer
CAM Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Let me know if any of you are up for multiplayer, I enjoy it (especially the balance of trust versus defence against backstabbing ).
Ghostgame Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 2 friends and I played multiplayer. 1 of them was doing so well that all the NPC's declared war on him and started steam rolling him into the ground. Required us to bail him out. Civ5 multiplayer is fun. Waiting for Civ: Beyond Earth to catch up as it is definitely not as good.
LiamHaith Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I can't play this weekend, but I'd definitely be down for a big 'ol Civ V game at some point. It'll be interesting to see who can and can't be trusted.
Novalee Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Haha well my steam tag is Novalee5 - add me for a game.
CAM Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Will do. We'll have to arrange a fixed date for a large Edugeek game.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I've not tried Civ V yet. I jumped on beyond earth immediately having waited for a sucessor to Alpha Centauri for so long. However it's not as good as Alpha so I've stopped playing. Alpha Centauri multiplayer was magnificent though. Many a week of my uni life was lost to a house-wide AC game where my Nautilus Pirates would eventually gain enough support in the UN to initiate global warming and flood the land, thus ensuring my domination of the waves
Arreks Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 EduGeek Civ 5 mega game confirmed. I don't play it often because it eats away so much of my time, but proper MP games are very enjoyable so sign me up.
LiamHaith Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 We might be better off arranging a set time over a period of weeks (2 hours every Xday) so that we can get a full game going instead of playing for 5 hours and stopping as it gets good
DMcGuigan Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 You can't trust @CAM, trust me on this. One minute all is quiet on the western front, next minute, you've lost half your defending army.
CAM Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 I've never attacked you! I plotted plenty of backstabs in colonies but couldn't quite mobilize enough of my standing army to protect against attack on my homelands...
Novalee Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 I got assigned India the other day :-( which was bad enough to begin with, but then another player invaded me from under cloud cover at about move 20 - I kid you not. He stole my workers and totally destroyed me!
featured_spectre Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Tempting to join in, but my game time is limited as I am job hunting and have family commitments!
DMcGuigan Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I've never attacked you! I plotted plenty of backstabs in colonies but couldn't quite mobilize enough of my standing army to protect against attack on my homelands... Keep telling yourself that, none of the TS lot trust you in Civ
Grey-gear Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 All this Civ talk gets me wanting to play the Civ 4 opening theme
Arreks Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 All this Civ talk gets me wanting to play the Civ 4 opening theme I've been hearing Baba Yetu a lot again recently, I think it's because someone made a cover of it on YouTube and that went viral.
CAM Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Right, weekends I am generally not free but midweek I am normally around. Does 8pm sound good? Play it Mon-Thurs.
