talksr Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 I have had similar problems and found it to be 'offline files' for us the resolution was on the following website Windows Domain DFS namespace – access is denied using domain FQDN, access allowed using server UNC paths directly | SIRKit.ca Technical Blog - News, Advisories & How-To Hi, thanks very much for your suggestion. I have had a good look on the server, but it doesn't appear to have Sync Center anywhere, so I am assuming it has never been installed or enabled.
chrisbsc Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 We had to disable Sync Center on all of our clients this resolved it for us once we had run the reg key to clear the cache. 1

Ah I see, the client machines. OK, took a look, but as expected it is disabled on all of mine. Control Panel -> Sync Center -> Manage Offline Files -> Enable Offline Files is the only option available. It says below that Offline Files is currently disabled. So it can't be that. Thanks for your thought and suggestion. Does anyone know if I definitely need a reverse lookup zone on DNS?

sparkeh Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 You need to make sure DNS Zones are allowed to replicate - server to server - by default this is switched off. Just wanted to pick up on this. If you are running AD-integrated DNS you do not need to enable zone transfers, all info will be replicated across all your DNS servers by default. AD Integrated do not require Zone transfers | Ace Fekay

sparkeh Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) Sorry I was just picking up on a previous comment, I am unsure from above if you have multiple DNS servers but if you do then they should be replicating with it being set as AD-Integrated. Following on from your previous question, yes I would create a reverse lookup zone. Here is a good guide: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725670(v=ws.10).aspx Choose to make a Primary Zone, and store in Active Directory. Let us know if you need more guidance on that.
