PR-UK Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 This is normal, you don't get KMS keys automatically anymore. Thanks Yer, unfortunately nobody seems to have sold some of MS's licensing helpdesk staff...
Arthur Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Although going off what people are saying here, the activation doesn't work. It worked for me when I did it last week (unless something has changed in the meantime?). unfortunately nobody seems to have told some of MS's licensing helpdesk staff. It certainly takes longer than it should.
Joanne Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I've got the key on my kms server... to activate Office 2013 though, I had to run a bit of a batch file.... gonna upgrade some of the supply laptops and see what happens.
Trapper Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Weird we got our KMS key on the 1st along with the MAK. KMS installs fine on our licensing server after the patches for Server 2008 R2. It just refuses to activate clients, they all report no KMS server available. The license attempt count on KMS is heading up rapidly. I've tried activating the KMS using VAMT - same deal. In the end the 6 clients I've got setup I've activated using the MAK for the time being.

I open a ticket at Microsoft because of this the error code on the client when trying to activate using ospp.vbs is 0xC004F056 Microsoft confirmed this problem when Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is used as KMS host for Office 2013 and Office 2016 at the same time. KMS error 0xC004F074 when you try to activate Office 2016 volume-licensed client
RowlandoGloom Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 I've noticed it does not work with Word-based SIMS reports, throwing an unhandled exception and crashing SIMS.

Yep same problem here, unsupported according to their road map. Good old Capita! Its as if they can't be bothered testing the Release Candidates and getting it working for when we all install it!
