Disease Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I have 3 blades that I use for VM and am wondering is there a way to cluster them for failover without affecting the VM's that are on each one at the moment. They are Dual Quad Xeons each with 128GB ram with their own ISCSI volume from our Nimble Storage. In hindsight I wish I have looked into this before creating VMs on them so is there a way to do this after, using Hyper-v by the way. Many Thanks

You can set a failover cluster to run on existing nodes, The biggest issue you will face is that you will need to use an IScsi disk as a cluster disk within the cluster. Once setup you just clickly click and it will migrate the disks and config and put them in the cluster. Disease Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 So effectively I need a shared Iscsi drive set the current hosts to cluster and it will copy all the VMs on the hosts to the shared cluster?
strawberry Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Yup, Pretty much!. Create the drive, build the cluster around it, add the hardware to the cluster then make each VM HA and migrate the storage.
