alonebfg Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) I Have been playing with the joomla and i love it I would like to ask one question. Is it possable to add a calander like jevents instead off using the pdf as we dont have the software to create pdfs on all pcs and teachers cant edit it and this way if a class has a certian trip the teacher of that class can edit it. I am going to have a play but did not know if it has been done and is working. I have found this one as well http://fachschaft.etec.uni-karlsruhe.de/component/option,com_eventcal/Itemid,388/ Edited January 11, 2008 by alonebfg

contink Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 This is long term planning but I'm looking at converting my CalLite/Pro script mods for phpBB2 so it can work with other CMS systems like Joomla so it's likely something else will be available in the future but more like 3rd quarter 2008 or so...
alonebfg Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 ok this is driving me mad i cant add the cal without losing side menu have it as a componant is that right or do i need it as a component link.
crazy Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) if i'm understanding you correctly you have to add it as a menu link from the parameters of that particular menu module Edited January 11, 2008 by crazy
alonebfg Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 ok all sorted I needed to create a menu compontant in that menu and then allow it so see the other modules thats it done
Dafty Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 On our site we use google calendar and just use the source code within the website. This is great because staff currently do not have access to edit the website! Plus it means the calendar can be update from anywhere. http://www.middlecott.lincs.sch.uk/calendar
Dodgex1 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 We've just changed from ExtCal to Jevents this week. St Thomas More RC College Using a module for a mini calendar on the front page and the Jevents component so when you click on the mini cal or the Calendar/events link on the top bar you get the full calendar so you can view the year. Which reminds me I should probably put events on there..
alonebfg Posted April 10, 2008 Author Posted April 10, 2008 the new jevents can link to ical IE google calander need to have a play i think see if better than Jcal
alonebfg Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 no but jevents is and it seems to be getting a lot better
