Panasonic NCP-500 help

We have an NCP-500 phone system with various (non-IP) extensions and now need to add an IP phone. The original supplier is quoting close to £500 for a KX-NT551 handset and extension license. My question is, what is the extension license and can it really cost that much? That model of phone can be found for around £80 online which makes installation and license very costly!

Just to answer my own question for anyone else who might be in this situation in the future...

 

We didn't need any licenses as the DSP card already installed comes with a number of licenses for IP phones (8 IIRC). However, the firmware version of the NCP500 was too old for the newer 5 series phones so that had to be upgraded first. With a little bit of help from the Internet, I managed to retrieve the INSTALLER password, download the latest maintenance console and firmware, upgrade the system, restore the original configuration, register and setup the new extension. Took about an hour.
