Trying to have a tidy! Permissions issue?

So I'm trying to move some old user docs to my archive drive and I'm getting this:

 

 

I can move other files in the folder, just issues with the music ones!

 

I am the owner. Why won't it let me move it!?

Did you allow the ownership to propogate to all children?

OK turns out that owner was 'administrators' and despite being a part of that group it didn't like it. I have changed it to me and then allowed on sub-containers and it's worked.

 

Wish there was an easier way than this though!!!

Windows permissions are a nightmare but I have to say they are IMO the easiest to work with compared to some other OS's.

Yeah, I just cut them to a folder on the same drive, then owner-ed that folder and propagated.

 

Wish I didn't have to archive like this, but space is a premium.

I have a regedit file that adds a "take ownership" option to explorer when you right click a file or folder. So when i get something tricky like this i can easily take ownership and archive it.
