Sharp 52" Plasma - flicks on and off intermittently

Hi folks,

 

Supporting a Sharp 52" Plasma screen connected via HDMI to teacher PC, no switch involved. The screen has started intermittently flicking on and off. E.g., runs fine for 20 mins then the flicking starts again. Have checked all cables seated OK, and now wondering what next. Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions.

How old is the screen? If it's done a bit of mileage it sounds like possibly some dud caps in the screen itself on the power board... Does the screen behave when connected to anything else over HDMI or is the symptom the same?

Hi Dave, I think the screen is a year or so old, but I am new to the school, so not 100 per cent sure. I will ask around, and also check the other inputs tomorrow. Thanks for the pointers. I'll update this thread as I go.
