Not sure if I've got this right in my head or not but here goes

We've just had our exchange server migrated to o365. We use ADFS to sync users between AD and o365

When we go to the Microsoft login page we are redirected to our onsite login page

Is there a way for staff to get pre authenticated to login to their email if they are in school and logged into their own domain accounts ?

ADFS is not used to Sync the users. You use DirSync.

Anyway, what browser are you using, by default it only works in IE, it will need to be turned on. Have you used this URL:

https://outlook.office365.com/domain.com

Thanks

Ok, tried that and it goes directly to our onsite login page where users are required to logon..

I have ensured that the site is in the security sections and that user logon is enabled in IE

It says opening mailbox but then redirects to the onsite login page

What you require are "smart URLs". We have these setup to achieve single sign on with outlook, onedrive and sharepoint on-premise . It can be a bit convoluted to get your first link generated but once you have one you can edit it for other URLs. Here a guide, there are others if you google "smart urls office 365":

However you do not need this for OWA SSO
