New ISP/Email Provider/Web Filtering

Hi,

 

I apologise if this is the incorrect section.

 

Our 3 year contract with Capita/OpenHive is up in October and I want to move our school away from them.

They've been pretty poor, unreliable, slow etc etc. At the minute, they provide us with our Internet connection, email solution and web filtering.

 

Do you guys have any suggestions for new providers of the mentioned services?

Don't mind if one company can supply us with them all, or if separate companies provide us with individual services.

For your email I'd look at office 365 with it being free for educational

Not only free but continually improving the raft of added value extras that come with it. Plus their support is also top notch. Top notch but often there's a little difficulty in hooking up with them time zone wise.

Office 365 is also very reliable, can't fault it from that aspect.

As above, go separate. 365 will handle mail and mail filtering extremely well, we've been over the moon with it. Plenty of internet providers out there; we favour @SchoolsBroadband

For your internet connection I would recommend Stream Networks (Stream Networks - Business Communications Provider), always been reliable and given good support.

We use Office 365 which is great but to access it we have to go through OpenHive and when they're down, we can't access it.

 

Would I go through Microsoft to get free Office 365 email? And how would I go about keeping our staff email addresses?

After looking into it, seems like Capita/OpenHive manage our domain, so will need to get access to that from them.

we've been supplying schools with broadband, filtering, email and security services in Leicestershire for nearly 5 years now and dozens use our service. We've just had about another 15 move to us from Capita / Kcom in the past couple of months too as their contracts have come up for renewal.

 

We use the best in breed for filtering and security by having hosted Lightspeed and Fortinet. Many users on this site already use our service.
