I created a blueprint in Configurator 2 and applied it to our 10 new iPad Air 2s, which worked fine. I applied the same blueprint to 5 iPad 2s and a handful of Apps had "Waiting..." underneath them. So I left them for a while, tried re-booting the iPad, even tried re-applying the blueprint completely a couple of times and the majority of Apps have "Waiting..." underneath. The Apps are from the Volume Purchase Program and from the Apps I've checked on the App Store, which aren't working, the iPad 2s have an iOS version which is above the requirement for the App. Has anyone experienced this before? I've attached a picture showing what I'm seeing. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi, I recently set up for the first time a group of iPads with Configurator 2 and would now like to add a couple of new apps I've come across. The problem is, when I add the couple of new apps to the blueprint, after I've purchased them through the Volume Purchase Program website, and then apply that blueprint to the set of iPads, all of the old apps are re-downloaded...which on our connection takes 2 hours. I did try the "Choose from my Mac" option, or whatever it's called when adding apps to the blueprint, but because they were downloaded through a non VPP account, they asked to be signed in with an iTunes account each time they were opened on the iPads, which when using them with any kids, especially younger ones, is a nightmare. I did try signing into iTunes with my VPP account to download the apps to the Mac, but it gave an error along the lines of "you can't use a VPP account with iTunes". Surely there must be a way to quickly add the 1 or 2 new apps I want on the iPads or do I actually have to re-download all of the old apps each time I want to add a new app? Thanks in advance if anyone replies.

Thanks for the help. I haven't used FSRM before and it's pretty good, so thanks for that. As I just wanted to control Chrome downloads in the ICT Suite for now, for 2 types of user (pupils and staff) I set the download directory in the pupil GPO to a designated, new share on the server and set the file screening to block .exe etc, so now when a pupil clicks a link to an .exe and so on, or tries to right click, save link as, it says in the Chrome download bar "Failed - Insufficient permissions" which is perfect. It doesn't prompt them to save elsewhere either, which is great. For staff, I've just set their download directory in their GPO to another, new, designated share as I don't want them continually downloading to the local computer, downloads folder (and I couldn't find a way to prompt the user with a dialog box asking them where they wanted to save their file (within the GPO or work arounds), just like you can if you went into Chrome settings and ticked the box on a stand alone Chrome install!). Will probably change the default download directory in time to their home drive, but for now, it's fine, as staff will probably just load IE anyway, main one was the pupils!

Hi, I've changed our ICT suite over to Chrome from IE and have got it setup exactly how I want, except Pupils are able to download files and there seems to be no setting in the Chrome ADMX/ADM files to prevent this. I've changed the download directory to a share they don't have access to, but all it does is then prompt them to select a save location. I've also tried adding URLS to the blacklist setting, which I found elsewhere...something like http://*/*.exe but it hasn't worked. So, can anybody help me prevent Chrome from downloading files, especially .exe and .msi Thank you for any help.

After looking into it, seems like Capita/OpenHive manage our domain, so will need to get access to that from them. -
New ISP/Email Provider/Web Filtering
Stephen1 replied to Stephen1's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We use Office 365 which is great but to access it we have to go through OpenHive and when they're down, we can't access it. Would I go through Microsoft to get free Office 365 email? And how would I go about keeping our staff email addresses? -
Hi, I apologise if this is the incorrect section. Our 3 year contract with Capita/OpenHive is up in October and I want to move our school away from them. They've been pretty poor, unreliable, slow etc etc. At the minute, they provide us with our Internet connection, email solution and web filtering. Do you guys have any suggestions for new providers of the mentioned services? Don't mind if one company can supply us with them all, or if separate companies provide us with individual services. Our school is based in Leicestershire. Thanks.

Just an update: After searching around Fronter some more today, I've been able to add the imported class groups for this new school year (the 3 classes who didn't have a room assigned to them), to the appropriate classrooms that I un-archived, then copied yesterday. I was originally looking in the Admin module, but eventually found the option when going to the classroom I copied, clicking on the Members button, then clicking the Edit button in the top right. This allowed me to search for the group of students and then give them all student write access. Did the same for the teacher too so they can update the room. Thought I'd update in case anyone needs help with this and they find this thread.

Hi, I'm trying to update our Fronter classrooms/users for the start of the new year, but I'm having problems. We import them from the office computer through Sims. Firstly, all students have been imported, which is good, but only 3 of 6 classrooms have been imported. I've tried running the importer a few times, with no success. (It has worked fine since running Fronter, it's just this year this has happened) The 3 classes which have a classroom, this is shown in the "Room Membership" section of the classes org unit area (which shows who the teacher is and which students are enrolled to this room) but the other 3, have nothing under "Room Membership". After having no success, I've made a copy of last years classrooms for the archived area (to use with the 3 classes which haven't had a room imported) but I can't find anywhere to manually add students to these new rooms (I don't mind going through each class and selecting the 30 odd students per class, just as long as they have a room they can see when they log in) Thanks for any help.
