Not enjoying W10 at the moment

I tried an upgrade on my laptop which completely ruined the machine, couldn't repair it or roll back so ended up having to do a fresh install which *touch wood* is working fine.

 

Using the same media I decided to try one PC in the staff room to play with.

 

It allows me to select the hard drive and then does the Hi stuff (which they stole from Apple FFS) and asks about changing the options...then says they will be back soon... then does the same thing (I did remove the media) and gets to a lovely screen saying something went wrong and it cant sign in... it wants me to create an account for this PC which it wont allow as it always says 'something went wrong' underneath the password hint. I have tried every combination I can and started again from scratch but hitting this wall.

 

Any ideas?

 

I may try a USB install just in case it doesn't like the media.

PS the only thing I found on the internet was removing the battery on a laptop install which was on a earlier build.. this is the W10 EDU ISO

Shame your not enjoying it. I'm struggling to love as well and had various problems installing too. I was a rare 8.1 fan and find it a little of a backwards step but its usable.

 

When installing education/pro/enterprise, I found ticking the "this is my personal machine" rather than its a school/work device cured a few problems I was encountering if that helps. I also installed it once and it kept throwing tantrums because it didn't like some partitions so found a GParted wipe helped with that.

Ensure the bios is set to UEFI on your staff room PC (although this would only help it when it didn't boot completely but hey, never know).
