Dell Optiplex 745

Have purchased a dvd rw drive ( sata ) for an optiplex 745 ( as they did not originally come with any optical drive of any sort )

 

I am now trying to install the sata dvd rw drive however there is a metal blanking plate that is screwed in place with 3 screws none of which I can get at with a screw driver.

 

Has anyone got a guide on how to get at these screws so I can install this sata dvd rw drive ?

 

I can get the side of the case off by pulling the release mechanism at the back and pulling the side off and I can use a flat head screw driver to release the plastic blanking plate ( and the metal one is behind the plastic one )

I did this with a bunch of 745s in my last job. Are you talking about the SFF cases? I dont recall having to use a screwdriver at all, the slimline drives just clicked into place...

Its a normal desktop case
