I was wondering if anyone has heard of or is with Ebico who are part of SSE. We are about to come out of our fixed 1 year contract with SSE. Not had a problem with them but with our Gas at about 6185 Kw/H and Electric at 1183 Kw/H per year and last month Gas was 13 Kw/H and electric was 116 Kw/H i was looking at something that had no or very little standing charge. Ebico is a company who don't charge a standing charge but their costs are 5.20p for gas and 16.71p for electric.

Thanks

I've used ebico for gas for a few years, it's all managed by sse so I doubt you'd see any difference. When you phone up it's the sse call centre, and when you login online you go to the sse site.

Is this actually any cheaper? Doing it this way, it would have cost me an extra £8. Is there a break point at which it becomes cheaper to go no standing charge.

It's cheaper for my gas, but I don't use much. In the summer months I only end up using about a quid a month. I'm sure you can do the maths for your own usage, all the figures you need are on their website and your last year's bill.

Have a look at Ecotricity, flat rate charge across pre-paid and quarterly meters and they are actively investing in Green energy. Plus customer service is top notch :)
