Firewall and Web content filter all in one

Hi all, looking for a web content management system and firewall preferably all in one hardware but maybe look at virtual. Have read a few posts and am looking to get a few demos next week. Like the Tru View of bloxx so its pretty much up to date and not relying on out of date lists, but it seems a bit pricy. Also need a firewall with integrated with VPN capability. Around 300-500 pieces of equipment connecting at any one time.

Bandwidth management

Allow teachers to manage certain content filters

BYOD

Proxy detection

AD authentication and guest access

 

Had a quick look at the Smoothwall S4, anyone had any experience of this? Any other recommendations all welcome.

I can't recommend Sophos enough. We got the SG115 appliance about a year ago to replace MS Forefront TMG and haven't looked back. It does all our firewalling/proxying/reporting/AD integration/reverse proxying/VPN in one box.

 

The bonus is you can download the Sophos UTM virtual appliance and play with a trial license to see how you like it, the virtual appliance runs the same software as their physical ones.

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts as well. Currently I am looking to switch from our Fortinet 300C to either a Smoothwall or Sophos UTM. We're a smaller school of only 340 students and we were quoted the S4 as well.

We have two SG650's at the college and a 320 at our new sponsored academy

We were quoted the SG310, still trying to decide between Sophos and Smoothwall. I was impressed by the features of both.
