Which versions of Windows 10 have Delivery Optimization turned on by default?

Delivery Optimization is turned on by default for all editions of Windows 10, with the following differences:

  • Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education: The PCs on your local network option is turned on by default.

  • All other editions of Windows 10: The PCs on your local network and PCs on the Internet option is turned on by default.

  • Thanks 1

The download mode can also be changed by the following registry value.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

; Delivery Optimization
; 0 = Off
; 1 = Get updates from Microsoft and PCs on my local network
; 3 = Get updates from Microsoft and PCs on my local network and PCs on the Internet (default for Home & Pro)

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DeliveryOptimization\Config]
"DODownloadMode"=dword:00000001
