Dos_Box Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) Haha! My sister had one of these, was utterly useless and i'm not sure she ever figured it out. As for DAB, I love mine. It sits in the kitchen and lets me listen to five live sports extra when the cricket is on and Planet rock radio the rest of the time. They're wonderful things Yeah, I'm going to side with DAB here too, much better selection of stations and audio quality, and +1 for Planet Rock Edited July 23, 2015 by Dos_Box 1
pcstru Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 A sort of car fan heater which I thought would be a clever wheeze to defrost the car windscreen. It was short lived because it was utterly useless. I also still have an Sigma 50-500 "twitchers" lens which has to be one of my most expensive purchases per use. Shortly after I bought it my sister was selling a Canon 35-350 white lens for a price I couldn't resist, so the 50-500 was only used a couple of times. I really must put some stuff on ebay.
rich_tech Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 This thread does show that one mans junk is another mans treasure. i would happily give a loving home to a Dreamcast, a raspberry pi and that windows 8 tablet i do have a wii myself not been used for over a year. Ironically I really miss the dreamcast, it was possibly one of the best consoles I owned and the games were all decent on it too, SoulCalibur2/Crazy Taxi/Sega Marine Fishing/Shenmue Xbox I had after it and PS2 never compared to that console for me personally.

korifugi Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 The worst I can think of for me was owning one of these as a child. I actually played on it too, even though when I think back about it - it was a load of c**p
pscott Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 My brother has a ZuneHD @ home, get peice of kit, gets far more use than the iPod Touch....
localzuk Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I'm waiting for someone to admit they had one of these: I bought one of those a few years ago, second hand at a random fete. Cost me £4. Managed to get Linux running on it then it died.

I mean it never bloody worked and there was no logic as to what barcodes were the best to use, but it was always fun trying and failing to use all manner of cut up cereal packs!

I had a Zune before the world decided that ipods were the only approved MP3 player to have, also one of those cheap usb stick MP3 players that pupils used to always bring in to "get their work off" when they broke. Now i just use spotify on my phone.
rich_tech Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I forgot about the Barcode Battler, I had one as a birthday present and used it for about 2 days afterwards, I also remember and think that the Super Scope beat the Sega Menacer which I had given to me for my Megadrive very convincingly having used it, my sister had a Creative Zen MP3 player which was also awful as I recall. I love my DAB radio too, better than normal radio by far.
newpersn Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I had one of these for my birthday present many years ago. Never got how it worked. Software wasnt great. .
