Some of them say they have been told they will have to pay $800 (£519) for repair work, the Staingate website states.

 

At that price, it'd probably be cheaper to just buy a new iPad...

I guess I can see that, another cheaper option would be to get a Mac mini and then just buy a half decant monitor

2,500 people, which probably isn't even near a percent of the products sold. More than likely is mistreatment though, they may be made out of aluminium, but they're a lot weaker than they used to be, given Apples 'make it as thin as possible' strategy and they do look like stress/bruise marks on the ones shown.

 

Heck, my friends GF sat on his iPad Air 2 and bent it and on the new MacBook the lids have flex. Literally all it could talk is a knock or stick something on top and that's it!

 

Also note how it's MacBooks not iMacs.

That's why I'm very cautious of how I clean the screen on mine, so far it's microfibre cloth only and check my sons hands before he goes near it
