Membership Databases

I belong to an organisation that is very antiquated in its way, lots of paper records and many people who always seem to have IT issues.

 

Basically we have a membership secretary that looks after all the payments (payments are received for start of year in April each year) and new memberships are added to the various categories. Each member gets a new card each year and address details are circulated to those who distribute materials.

 

Can anyone recommend a preferable online system that can manage members deals and subscriptions with the facility to upload and export data as necessary.

 

Also the facility to group mail from this would be great i.e. based on area, also we arrange visits so could do with some kind of integration where a calendar is published and foe example members can login and see/amend their details and subscribe to visits and any updates can be posted and those that require communication in paper form can be displayed and relevant stuff sent out. We have a varied membership from kids to older folk some who do not use computers.

 

Some kind of app on a mobile device to mark attendance at visits would be good too to again cut down on paper but also the online presence will resolve some of the IT issues.

 

Any recommendations where to look?

Did you find a solution for this? I'm helping someone out with a near identical problem. I'm looking at Access, which will do the job, but wondering if there's an easier solution before I commit to it!

Not found anything yet. Since I posted I've not had huge amounts of time but will get there eventually, keep me posted if you find anything.

djenie created the membership system for Scouts Queensland, which is quiet powerful and could probably do a customized solution to suit your organization.

 

Dibbs is a smaller membership system for clubs, I'm not sure how customizable it is as I haven't been a end user on it.

 

You probably won't find a pre-made package for what you want as most club organisations have their individual needs and wants which don't always translate to something that is marketable in a generalized environment.
