Noob question - Deploying the Summer 2015 SIMS Update

Hi all

I'm not sure how to deploy the Summer 2015 upgrade via SOLUS3.

 

When we were upgraded from SOLUS2 to SOLUS3, auto download and update was turned on. This caused a number of issues over the last few updates, and so I recently turned auto updates off. My issue is that I have never initiated a update manually in SOLUS3 and am not 100% sure of the method, or if there are any Gotchas?

Make sure the clients (and the server) are showing as online in the Agents part of the Environment section (tab at top left).

 

If so, it's just a case of going on the Upgrades tab, selecting the downloaded update in the Update Library, clicking Deploy, select all desired clients (using Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click) and clicking Deploy now. It then does it's thing.

 

You might not see much activity on the clients if you are watching them, but the update notifier should pop up after a while and tell you what it's doing. If you're really keen, you can watch the processes tab of task manager to reassure yourself something is actually happening.

 

Solus 3 is miles better than previous versions of Solus and is relatively hands off. Remember that it is Capita we're talking about though, so expect glitches/random quirks.
