Greetings,

Im quite new to wds/mdt/multicasting so please forgive if this seems like a daft question.

I was multicasting via mdt my latest image and during the first few percent all the clients suddenly switched to applying process. This has happened in the past and I assumed that the imaging process had failed and I would get a blue screening client. However, when these clients had completed the applying process stage, they went through setup properly and seemed to be fully imaged clients.

My question is this, was the switch to the "applying process" phase just a switch from multicasting to unicasting mode? If so, why when a client successfully completes multcasting does it still then go through the applying process phase? Does multicasting just chuck the data to the drive and then the applying process phase reorder it?

Please help me to understand this process as I want to know for sure that any clients that apply the image in this way (instead of completing multicasting) are fully working and ok to use.

Thanks
