Techdw Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Guys, Some students home drive files and folder text are now blue and staff cannot access them, but the student can. Any ideas?
Sagima Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I think blue means they are compressed. If staff can't access anymore then check ntfs and sharing permissions?
Techdw Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 How would they just become compressed, we use file server resources manager but cant see compression settings. I right clicked, properties, advance and un-ticked compression, but it says an error occurred applying attributes to the files, access denied, that's as administrator domain.
GuyJD Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Sounds like the permissions have become corrupt, you'll need to take ownership of the folders and reset the permissions.
Techdw Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 The current owner of the folder is Administrators (File-Server\Administrators), would this need to be changed to domain admin
GuyJD Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 check the settings on a home folder that is working correctly and set it the same.
Sagima Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The current owner of the folder is Administrators (File-Server\Administrators), would this need to be changed to domain admin Domain Admins should be a member of the local Administrators group
