Projector keeps switching itself on

This is the latest call on our help desk. I'm dubious but I'm willing to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt. It's an Epson EB-X9 and I've cleaned the filter (just so he could see me doing something) and I've swapped the remote (in case a button is sticky). Any other ideas? He's worried in case it switches itself on in the middle if the night.

It's not networked and supposedly comes on when the room is empty. I would blame it on the ghost but it's not in the building that is haunted.

Lights left on? I know there were some projectors that had a thing about certain light frequencies acting as an infra-red on switch

We had the same thing, went to classroom as teacher told us that a projector kept switching both off and On, even without touching the remote.

Mentioned about could be a student controlling with phone, after that it never happened again!

Is it at random times? I think you can set a power-on time on most Epsons, could be some conniving kids?

 

If not, chuck a webcam in there to monitor it.

Android phone app. Ours usually wind up supply teachers this way!
