iPad Monitoring

I manage a schools iPads using Meraki which has so far been brilliant but I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to stop children setting passcodes and alarms. It seems to be the only thing Meraki would help you avoid.

Worth a try. I didn't know if someone had found a way around it. I've wrote to Meraki and made them aware that it's a problem in schools. My next step is to search for iPad monitoring software similar to AB Tutor just so I can keep an eye.

I think those features are coming in ios9 iirc.

It isn't Meraki's fault, they simply use the payloads provided to them by Apple. Apple is the source of all hell.

 

Also - AB Tutor were doing their own iPad App, but because of the way iOS works - you have to use the AB Tutor app to record anything from the device, so it has built in it a web browser etc.

There is currently no API for MDMs to access to disable Alarms on iOS. An Apple engineer did say i was the first to mention to them about alarms being set being an issue, so he would take that info back to the team. I think iOS 9 would have been too far along for them to have implemented that in it, so if they do it would be an iOS 10 addition at a guess.
