mikkydoos Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Well I've just done this... I have a 2nd internet connection here. Just a BT home hub - not connected to our network in any way. No firewall, no proxy etc etc. Plugged my PC in, connected up the Ipad - same result. Must be something on the Ipad. Don't know what though.
localzuk Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Are you sure the firewall is disabled on your PC?
mikkydoos Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) @localzuk First thing I checked m8. Funny thing is, I've been trying Reflector too - hence posting on this thread. Reflector does the same thing - refuses a passcode - won't connect. PC - Bonjour service is started, no firewall, both networks ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????? localzuk Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I'm at a bit of a loss - if you install Wireshark, and set a filter to look for traffic from the iPad's IP, is anything getting to the PC when you try and enable AirPlay?
Marshall_IT Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Make sure you have the latest version i AirServer too, i know they released to close together as one had bugs in it similar to what you're describing. the latest version is 4.0.23. 4.0.20.2 has issues. Also if you're using hte MSI installer and not the .exe installer you need to also install C++ 2015 redistributable.
mikkydoos Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 @Marshall_IT Got the latest m8 @localzuk Looking at wireshark now.
jcookhgs Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 We trialled both and air server came out on top for us, less issues especially at the client end.
