So, Virgin are charging us too much money now for the TV we never ever watch and the phone we never ever use.

Who has what these days? I moved to Virgin cable direct from ADSL2 so I have no real idea if the current FTTC connections are good, or not.

I am on VM myself, around £50 for Telephone and 152meg broadband here.

Where I am the BT fibre cabinet is literally at the end of my street, so plenty of options here, though its been great in this area as its not oversubscribed and I am not so hardcore into online gaming these days.

Wont have their TV as they don't do Sky Atlantic (don't think its wise to stick all eggs in one basket either)

I had this problem about a year or so back.

We looked around at the various options and leaving Virgin, but in all cases we still end up getting stung for line rental and paying for a decent amount of bandwidth.

In the end we haggled with Virgin and get the Tivo (I HATE that slow unresponsive box) free as well as the basic TV package (Netflix and Cruncyroll still come in well under what VM want to charge for one of their lower tier packages).

We still have the landline as well charged at the basic rate (never used) and 50Mb broadband. All at £30 per month.

Many broadband companies came in dearer than that once you factor in the various charges that rack up.

Yeah, we're still paying VM for our TV we never use because the bundle price is cheaper with it in, than to cancel it. 100mb broadband and I think Eve&Weekend phone package.
