Sorry if this isn't the forum to ask, but just wondered how easy it is to upgrade papercut to a newer version, we haven't touched ours since install V13.4 and was wondering if it is just backing up the database installing the new version over the top and re-importing again. Are there any considerations to take into account? Ours is running on a VM so we could create a snapshot to revert back to if it didn't go to plan..

It should just be running the installer over the old install (Stop services first, and then leave it for a while after install to upgrade database etc)

However we were talking to our reseller recently and all the MFDs software needs updating too, (If you use them), so that needs doing etc

Needed we were told, but I don't know if that was just in our situation, as we were having a custom build from Papercut to fix a bug

Cool - just awaiting the nod from our reseller on this - might have to come in over a weekend and update the MFDs which I presume I can do from a USB stick with the .pkg file on?

We are running v15 and the past few updates have all gone on fine. I usually take a snapshot of the server and just run the installation, all very simple, it's just a next-next-next process.

Tried to run v15.1 and it did not go smoothly, going to retry it next week (I think it might have been something to do with pending windows updates on it)

With updating the MFDs, our Konicas usually download the update from the server and nothing has to be touched.

However if i remember rightly, on one of the updates (Might have been v14) I removed all devices and re-added them under a new OpenAPI version. Because one of the papercut updates added an OpenAPI 4.0+ to the Konica Minolta

This API ran fine on our MFDs with old firmware and then we got Konica in to run any firmware updates.
