Hi All,

Is there any way that SIMS.net can automatically make a SIMS.net user account inactive once they are no longer a current member of staff?

My AD, VLE, Cashless catering system, library system, online payments system and door access system all look at SIMS.net and make the accounts disabled or inactive once they leave, but i can't find a way to do this from within SIMS.net itself?

Seems pretty silly to me.

Thanks in advance.

Thought it did it automatically based on their contract dates?

I have a number of staff whose contracts have ended and their user accounts are still active... Unless I've done something strange.

Just had a look at few of ours and contract/employment dates e.g Leaving Date all seem to make them inactive here.

Thanks, I'll have to have a look as to why this isn't the case for me.

Anyone else getting this?

Strange :s Don't really play with the staff side of things in SIMs.

1.2 Adding Leaving Dates for Existing Staff Members in SIMS .net

1.Select Focus | Person | Staff and choose the required member of staff.

2.Open the active contract on the Employment Details panel.

3.Add a destination and a contract end date.

4.When prompted confirm that the contract end date is also the date of leaving.

5.Click the Save button. Repeat as required for all staff leavers.

Random end of year doc ^

I'll try to poke our HR ladies later and see if they do the same still.

There is no link in this way between Personnel and System Manager that I am aware of. I am aware of some occasional circumstances where we would not want this to happen - An exams Officer or Timetabler leaving at the end of the Summer term has on occasion agreed to come back in to help with processes / hand over of duties during the holidays.

The staff accounts on ours remain active until I go into System manager and untick the active box even if the have a contract end date and date of leaving set.
