From googling it looks like Windows 10 will come as a windows update that can then update your OS from W7 or W8 to W10 however what if I want to reinstall W10 at some point in the future do I first have to install W7? There must be some option to save it as an ISO or such like or even a backup file.

I have a quick question regarding windows 10. I reserved my copy via the notification in task bar. I was wondering does it just update you to windows 7 so all my files and settings will come along like my steam and games ect? Just wondering as when I went to upgrade to windows 8 I would have to reinstall from scratch so I am hoping this wont be the case?

You will be given the choice in all likelihood, the recommended and preferred option will be an in place upgrade.

Ahh that's fair enough, I think il start moving software to another harddrive and just fresh install windows 10. You said about be able to download the ISO will they give you a link and a serial key?

You will be able to download an ISO, they haven't specified exactly how it will work yet, a Microsoft Exec mentioned it on Twitter.
