Looking to get 1TB of online storage from Microsoft Azure.

Our supplier can supply us with Azure credits but couldnt get any info on how they worked.

Anyone know how this would translate into storage size?

Using the Azure calculator it would cost roughly £25 per month for just under 1TB.

Cheers

Hi,

In essence, if your not large enough for an Azure EA (i.e. you cannot commit to X of money per month) and you have no way to use Credit Card or Invoice then you can purchase Azure Open Agreement which means that in essence you pay a Microsoft Partner / Reseller and they then give you an Open Agreement which gives you a product key which you use to redeem the Azure Credits.

What this then does is give you X amount of Monetary Credit per month to use for Azure Workloads such as PaaS, IaaS, Storage etc. and the cost gets deducted from your credit that is allowed per month.

You can find out more information here: Azure in Open

when you sign-in to redeem, make sure you sign-in with your existing work account aka AAD Account/Office 365 Account and generally it is recommended this is a Service Account as it will become the Account Administrator of the Subscription. Once this has been done it will attach the subscription to your Azure AD and will ensure that you setup the account.identity piece correctly so that you use the same credentials etc.

I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks James,

Makes sense, 1 credit is currently £61.09 azure money.

Once youve used you credits it looks like youve got 12 month. If i buy 6 credits now and only claim one at a time do you know if the unclaimed credits will last longer?

edit:Just found this link

to the open FAQ, looks like if you dont claim them then they will last.

No Problem. That sounds about right, I am not sure without checking to VLSC Portal as to how they break it down but I am sure you just a single product key means if you have 6 seats then it will redeem the whole cost of the 6 seats and add that value to the subscription for you to then use per month.
