Hi

Where i work we have Office 365. It was setup before i started here and i have a pet hate in that the domain was registered as http://swhmail.onmicrosoft.com/.

This means that to access our sharepoint site it begins with swhmail.

I would rather it be something without the word mail in there as Office 365 does so much more, which is what I am looking at pushing next year.

Is there anyway to change the domain / remove the word mail?

Cheers

You could just use your current domain name (or buy a new one) and point that at the sharepoint site? - that way you could have anything. for example, yourdomain.sharepoint.com

No there is no way to change the tenant name. The only way to do it is to start a new subscription. We went through this, MS support is very helpful, but migrating all your content and mailboxes would be up to you.

Pointing your custom domain wouldn't help with the urls of SharePoint sites, except for the public site (if you have one), as they are all based on .sharepoint.com and don't use custom domain names. I guess you could point a CNAME record at the root site, but as SharePoint won't know abou it, all links within the site will still be .sharepoint.com/.
