ButterflyMoon Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Totally agree @jinnantonnix I use my van for camping trips. It's a Peugeot Partner and I have my memory foam mattress in the back, portable toilet and heating lighting. This summer am planning on building a base for the bed with storage underneath. I also have an awning and it makes for a very comfortable trip. I will say however I am only 5'1 so I fit the van fine anyone taller will have problems.

MrPstv Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Very nice indeed. Nice toilet tent too! A room with a view...
crc-ict Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Very nice indeed. Nice toilet tent too! Nothing like sitting out in a small cold tent, surrounded by bugs with only thin canvas to disguise the sounds of your morning constitutional! I don't miss our tent camping days!! Caravan all the way with onboard bathroom.
MrPstv Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Yep i toyed with the buying a motorhome or caravan but it would not work... My recent purchase will easily convert to van when required..
tech_guy Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Mrs.T_G wouldn't let me have a caravan so we settled for a campervan instead. All mod-cons. Looking forward to adding extra bits and things to it myself. 1
MrPstv Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 I need the space being 6ft 2" 3 of us to house, T5 too small would drive me mad. If it was for just the 2 of us fair play would work a treat.. My new purchase requires some tarting up, way too grey. Bit on the boaty rocking from side to side with being a high top. Its a commercial van in reality..
tech_guy Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 Tbh that's the concern I have with the T5 - that'll it'll be a bit claustrophobic - but we've gone and got a 3m square drive-away awning to go with it so we'll have some additional living space. Plus I'm a midget so I guess we'll manage.
connor_ict Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Do you think it's possible to get insured on a VW camper van at 21 years old with 3 years no claims...
ButterflyMoon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 @connor_ict I don't see any reason why not. In fact I would think it would be easier than getting insured on a car.
connor_ict Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I'll have to try. Quote, if it's like ensuring a standard van it's expensive at my age
rad Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I'll have to try. Quote, if it's like ensuring a standard van it's expensive at my age Insuring a standard van is expensive at any age compared with a car insurance, I'd go through a Broker such as AF/Brentacre
