[E2BN] Schools Broadband Outages Suffolk

There appear to be County wide issues affecting Schools Broadband in Suffolk this week. Many schools have been experiencing intermittent connections and poor performance. This has been going on for about a week now. Does anyone have any further information on what is causing this disruption ? Edited May 20, 2015 by ReBoot

There have been emails to Schools and the status line confirms there are problems (but no details on the cause). I heard there was a power outage at one of the Ipswich buildings but nothing more.

Dear Colleagues,

 

We are working closely with E2BN to resolve the issues with slow internet performance impacting schools across the county. Later today E2BN will be introducing additional hardware which should stabilise internet performance.

 

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are working to restore performance as soon as possible

 

We will keep the broadband information line updated (01473 260136).

I've heard E2BN have upgraded the proxy hardware yesterday. Be worth contacting them again if its still occurring.

Service still degraded. Schools Choice/E2BN now have some seriously disgruntled customers who will I'm sure be carefully reviewing their renewals next year.

Pretty sure SchoolChoice is thinking the same thing with the E2BN contract. Just make sure you keep them informed that the performance is pants else they'll keep renewing.

Just to confirm this is the Schools own broadband outage and not an outage for us (Schools Broadband)

Personally I thought it being posted in E2BN sub-forum under RBC would have given it away, still, might as well make use of the very specific company name and forum sponsorship

I didn't even notice what sub-forum it was in until now to be honest and reading the title did think it was related to Schools Broadband as a company.

We certainly will be very carefully considering our options.

 

Any other schools considering changing? Maybe a group of us should get together to explore our options!
