JJonas Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Just started using Apple configurator for the first time, my other iPad devices have been configured by hand and have find my iPhone enabled so we can track them should they go missing. I have set up one device as supervised but now it will not show up on find my iPhone (I had to disable it in order to enable supervision) Can I have a supervised device with Find my iPhone tracking enabled? if so how? Also as my total Apple configurator experience equals a few hours at the moment any handy tips would be appreciated.
Oddbod Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 You might have to go down the route of a separate tracking system whilst under supervision. I put a dozen iPads onto prey project (http://www.preyproject.com) when I couldn't monitor them via “find my iDevice” until we got a separate Mobile Device Management server up and running. 1
tmoon-mint Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Activation lock is automatically disabled when you supervise a device using Apple Configurator. We use Meraki to keep track of them, which can even lock and wipe the data on devices should they be lost or stolen. Thankfully though never had a need to use it. 1
