Primary School Video Editing

Hi all,

 

Am after some ideas of some software we could use in one of my primary schools for nice easy to use video editing software.

 

"I would like some really good but easy to use video editing package. I really want to push the use of the tablets as a tool to enable creative uses of video but we do need some way of then improving the ‘raw’ video images and / or stitching them together to make interesting sequences etc"

 

I think the likes of Premiere Pro is overkill and far too complicated for Primary but open to ideas!

We're successfully using Serif Movie Plusx6 with years 3-6

I don't know about tablets, but honestly, Windows Live Movie Maker is as simple as it comes, still gives you good options, and free. We use it here (secondary) for more or less anyone who isn't a Media student or IT technician.

Oh yeah sorry I meant for PC's! Win 8.1 machines. They use the tablets for something else!

 

That Serif one looks pretty easy to use, open to other suggestions though!

I have used various serif software and for the money it is really good. Depending on how complicated the videos need to be windows movie maker maybe your best bet.

I was actually asked to help a group of year 5 pupils to edit video yesterday. I used Windows Movie Maker with them and they picked it up really quickly (I'm not a teacher either so I just showed them the basics and they figured out the rest). For general video editing it has everything you could need while still being really simple to use.
