Office 365 MDM ???

Just noticed that a status of 'Provisioning' has appeared in my Office 365 dashboard for a Mobile Device Management feature?!

 

Anybody heard of this?

Noticed it the other day as it's now included in the E1 licenses (as an option to enable/disable) but not actually had a play with it etc.

Yeah it was announced about a month ago, should be live for all in another month or so.

I just wanted to also add some clarity here around the differences between Office 365 MDM and Intune which will help you choose in terms of deciding which option to go for.

As ZH said above this is currently rolling out, If you want these new features first then I would encourage you to opt in to First Release.

Would be helpful if I could do the select people for first release... Been getting "Sorry we can't add the people you've selected.Please try again later." for the past 2 weeks when trying to add myself or anyone else.

This is a known issue at the moment that we are currently investigating. It only affects user objects that you select of which are in a Synchronized State. I shall update this thread once we push out the fix to production.

The fix has now been rolled out to production. if you could let me know how you get on and if you have any further issues in regards to that it would be great.

Anyone else tinkered with this yet?

 

Seems to do what it says on the tin, very neat and straight forward setup.

 

We're happily promoting it, although we're covering our backs by insisting only school procured devices are enrolled.
