Whats its called

Just wanting to know what its called, a few years a go I went to a conference run by our grid about broadband.

Basically they said that and I'm paraphrashing that they would be the named contact for ( i cant remember the name) but basically it was if something happened on the network and the police was involved they would handed it all i.e providing all the information that the police wanted and not giving them what they didnt ask for. Also that they had been trained up in these procedures. I cant remember what that role was called.

 

Basically we are looking to move providers and we want to know all the repercussions of moving away from the grid. Obviously a filtering system to replicate the smoothwall we have now is one. But more specific if there is anything else we have missed

Means that they can gather data in a way that doesn't bias any legal case or investigation, so they know about the chain of evidence, and may (or may not, it is a separate but related thing) also be qualified expert witnesses if it goes to court.

Yeah thats what it was kind of described as. Kind of like they could go in and get the data without changing things like timestamps etc.
