Just configuring our new HP Gen 9 server and want to use RAID 10 for the data drives. When im in the config utility for the controller and I choose RAID 1+0 it defaults to 256KiB as the strip size. Should I leave it as 256 or change it to 64KiB? The server is going to be our main file server.

what do you think?

I did a whole load of experimentation with this a while back by creating various level RAID arrays with varying stripe sizes and benchmarking them all. I eventually came to the conclusion that a 64kb stripe was the best to use as it seemed to be the best compromise between throughput and simultaneous operations.

Was 64kb still the best at RAID 10?
