Morning everyone,

I am trying to install google drive on one of our teachers laptop, everything seems to work fine except Google drive Desktop version. It simple doesn't let me login. I've verified and fixed disk permissions, disconnect and reconnect the account, tried a different account but it simply wouldn't budge. The drive installs perfectly fine and loads ok, ask me to enter username and password and goes through the process of setting up Google drive but as soon as I hit Done it gives the error message (attached above).

Did anyone experienced this error message and fixed it? It's driving me crazy.

Kind regards

Found a solution to this problem. While installing Google drive Desktop version, before clicking on Done click Advanced setup and under Advanded tab click Direct connection instead of Auto-detect. Once it's installed click on the top icon and go into preferences and change it back to Auto detect. Google will start to sync normally.

Some might suggest it to be a proxy settings issue but I enabled all Google reference under proxy settings/web filter. It still didn't work until I did the above process.

Kind regards

J.

Edit: back to square one!!!!! As soon as it restarted its back to same error.

Hello, I don't know what's wrong with it to be honest. While setting it up if I set the connection to 'direct connection' under advanced settings during installation it doesn't give error message but it doesn't sync either. If I set to 'auto proxy' it crashes with 3a36 error. Since we're using transparent proxy I can't turn it off and test the device. This issue is driving me crazy and there's no help out there.

Here's the thread - it's been running since 2012. Google doesn't care......

Here's the version I am using

Ok set the connection to direct connection while installation then click on the icon on right hand side top and click preferences --> Advanced a--> Proxies:auto detect. Until your on and not restarted the machine it will sync normally. Before restarting the machine set it back to direct connection

Hi All

I have had the same issue and just managed to solve the issue

another Mac user with the same mac as me on OSX Yosemite, has been using Google Drive fine, but i could not

he is using version 1.20 and the latest i downloaded was 1.21, he zipped up his app file and passed it over to me and it is work flawlessly, so must be an issue with the latest Google Drive 1.21 on Googles Website

If any wants the app file i could look at file sharing it with you as i can;t seem to find it available to download on any other website.

Hello danpitman2,

Thank you for taking part in the discussion and reaching out to help.

I did manage to find .dmg 1.20 from online but when I installed it, it never loaded, pop up message suggesting to update the google drive.

Nevertheless, if you could kindly share the 1.20 installer I will it a try and see if it works.

P.S. Even though I have opened the filtering for googledrive.com on our web filter it still doesn't resolve. This could also mean swgfl has to do something with it. I'll email them and check.

Will update here...

Regards
