MatthewL Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I am just getting everything installed on my new PC with a SSD but unable to disable the write caching option as per this. Never had this before, can anyone advise?

The only things worth doing are enabling AHCI in your BIOS (I assume you have already done this?) and installing the latest chipset drivers since they will improve performance in almost all cases compared to the generic 'msahci' driver included with Windows. Did you install the operating system from scratch or clone Windows from a HDD to your SSD? Edited April 25, 2015 by Arthur

Always from scratch, current i3 system is on its way out, bought this i5 one from one of the lads I work with as it was cheaper than buying new. Chipset drivers are latest from website. Got a 240GB SSD for £57 from eBuyer.
