BBC news SERIOUSLY slow??

Hello, all..

 

Slightly hoping folk say they ARE having the same issues here

 

Is anyone out there having issues with BBC News? And possibly other sites within BBC?

 

We have 2 WebSense proxies that we use - one for Staff, one for pupils.

Going via either of them using pretty much any browser version is seeing some serious slow-downs.

 

Usually a couple of pages will load OK, but then you get hit with "waiting for www.bbc.co.uk/whatever". This also happens if you hit F5 on a page that's already loaded.

 

It's happening on XP, 7 and 8. IE 8, 9, 10 and 11. In different schools and the main Data Centre.

 

Other sites seem absolutely fine.

 

It's been like this on and off for a few weeks now. The last week has been fine, but it seems it kicked off again yesterday and is still doing it today.

BBC news running normal here on SWGfL connection at present.

BBC News ok here too. Also been streaming the snooker for the last hour and that's fine too.

It was dire one day this week (maybe tuesday or wednesday - they all blur together a bit these days) taking maybe 2 or 3 seconds to switch between pages but today, like most days, it is almost instant

Probably an issue with your ISP DNS. Ping the BBC news server and see if the response is ok.
