Hi guys,

I have recently made an image for our old Acer Extensa 5630 laptops. We only a have a few left so I re-imaged the ones we do have left to get another years use out of them.

However, when a user has logged on, if they click on something, nothing happens. To get anything to work, you have to press Ctrl + Alt + Del and then you press cancel and everything works fine. I have never seen this before. I have made sure all the drivers are installed and even performed a driver update and still no luck.

I can't figure out what the problem could be. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Bump. Doesn't seem to be down to one Image. I just imaged another laptop with a blank Windows 7 install and the mouse won't click once logged in. I have to press Ctrl + Alt + Del, then click Cancel and the mouse starts working.

Any ideas?

Sounds like something is running and not working when you turn it on.

For the record, Acer Extensa 5630 will work fine with Windows 7, so your not wasting your time, and if they are SSD to then they are quite acceptable performance wise. However, when I last reinstalled one it was from a disk as it wasn't a school one, also the drivers from Acer are needed, most are Vista I think but will work. WDS etc won't give it the right drivers.

I'll try installing the drivers from the disk.
