Gym/Hall-Proof Computer

Morning Guys,

 

Looking to redesign our hall as the connections keep getting battered by balls and feet and generic kids

 

Was debating about boxing away a normal computer etc, but wondered if there's any nice premade solutions anyone can think of?

 

Originally started looking at cyber-cafe style computers but they're a bit of an eye-sore for a hall etc.

We made use of our stage to put a free standing 19" lockable metal cabinet to host the 2 AMPS, mixing desk and PC and then located the monitor on top of it. The joys of a 1960's style hall

Have you got stage in your hall? We cut out the front of the stage and created a cupboard in the front of it with a lockable door, The pc, screen, K&M are kept in the cupboard and the amp, video switcher and various other bits are located in a rack tucked in the corner of the stage.

We used to use our stage in my old school, simply put the PC and monitor on an exam desk behind the curtains with all the connections on the wall nearby, the amp just went in a locked cupboard on the other side.

 

I imagine the screen isn't a problem for a lot of schools anymore with the electronic or remote up\down either on a ceiling or wall over the stage.

I had a modified flight case. But we also had the blu-ray player, amp, mic receivers in there two. The top was left available for a laptop. Might be slightly overkill for what you're after though...

Hi,

Have you considered a computer that can fold away, which then makes it look like a simple cabinet? The wires etc. are all hidden away so not easily caught as long as there is a plug next to/near the area. Also, because it then folds over as a cabinet, the balls won't come into contact with the physical equipment.
